Galen's New Space

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of assembling some new furniture for Galen. Ikea had a 20th birthday sale and we picked up a toy box, and table with chairs. A beer, wrench, parts, and instructions made for a fun hour. Now he has more places to play.

The toy box is cool - it won't slam shut, opens easily, and won't lock shut if he crawls in. All good things in a toy box. And it'll hold more than enough stuff - I hope. Just as long as he doesn't try to make a cake or jello inside of it...

We made Galen his own area inside the living room. The new furniture, on top of a playful carpet, is all there with some of his toys. Now if only he'd concentrate on that stuff instead of what's inside the kitchen cabinets.

Halloween, and Google

Happy Halloween, and a pumpkin found by a friend of mine...

Hope that's not on his front porch.

Galen got a dragon...

What more is there to say???

It's a gently used & loved dragon we picked up at Kid-to-Kid, a just-opened kids resale shop. A thanks to Spooky for letting me know about this place.

Lip, Animals, and Parties

First fat lip happened Saturday, October 22. It was a big fat bruiser. Little man was using a cardboard box as sort of a walker, he was up, leaning, and walking about on it over the tile. Well, the box slipped out a little faster than he was walking and BOOM, down on his upper lip. It took some time, loving, and frozen Edamame (soybeans) to sooth him. By Sunday morning a great deal of the swelling had subsided.
Not a good pic, but he wasn't in the posing mood.

Still no walk'n - see First fat lip.

Phoenix Zoo. We spent a Dad's Day at the zoo, we purchased a membership and got to see a few. It is soooo much fun to see him see the animals. Time to go back.

Birthday countdown, he'll be one on 11/10.

Speaking of birthdays, we are being introduced to the world of kids parties, they are bubbling up through the calendar. For us/Galen, who do we invite? Are reciprocity agreements needed?

Free time to write? None, zip, nada, I am glad to get out this brief missive.
